Heteroromantic is a term used to describe someone who is romantically attracted to only a gender opposite or different from one’s own. More specifically, heteroromantic most commonly used by women who are romantically attracted to men, and by men who are romantically attracted to women, though it can be used by any gender.
The sexual counter part is Heterosexual. The two differ in that hetero-romantic is the romantic attraction to only a gender opposite or different from one’s own. Hetero-sexual is the sexual attraction to only a gender different or opposite from one’s own.
There may or may not be a sexual attraction for the gender that the hetero-romantic person is romantically attracted to.
A person can be heteromantic but asexual, bisexual, heterosexual, homosexual, or pansexual.
